Paperblanks have been producing superb writing journals for nearly 20 years. Paperblanks have four main areas of responsibility - the components of their journals, their environmental and social commitment and finally their commitment to the craftspeople who put the Paperblanks journals together. In addition to using only sustainable forest pulp in their paper, Hartley and Marks Publishers who produce Paperblanks journals and notebooks make investments in programs that reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the developing world by paying a self-imposed company "carbon tax" proportional to their Green House Gas releases.

Environmental and Social responsibility

A Carbon Neutral Program has been designed to offset all unavoidable and signigicant Green House Gases released from Hartley and Marks in the production of Paperblanks and any employee operations plus the offsetting of Green House Gas releases emitted by their suppliers in the production of the Paperblanks journals and notebooks. Their social commitment involves making a significant contribution each year to social programs locally and around the world. Paperblanks journals are not only beautiful to look at and use, but are also a socially responsible choice to make when purchasing a journal, notebook or diary.
